The Faculty of Theology Section in Tarnów (WTST) is responsible for the development and coordination of academic formation, research and scientific service in the field of philosophical and theological studies. The Faculty of Theology Section in Tarnów contains ten Research Sections (Chairs): Philosophy, Exegesis of the Old Testament, Exegesis of the New Testament, Patrology and History of the Church, Fundamental Theology and Ecumenism, Dogmatic Theology, Moral Theology and Spirituality, Pedagogical and Catechetical Studies, Canonical Law and Social Studies, Pastoral Theology, Liturgy and Homiletics. These sections have been entrusted with the teaching in the faculty programmes, with research and practical dimension, preparing priests and laity for ministries in the Church, pastoral care, catechesis and religious education.

The teaching programmes of the Faculty of Theology are based on personal research by the Staff members. These programmes are aimed at the general education and development of the students and their preparation for theological, pastoral , educational work. The studies in theology at our faculty are offered at two levels: 1) a five year Master's Degree program for laity; a six year Master's Degree program for clerics; 2) a program towards Licentiate in Sacred Theology and a program specifically oriented towards the doctorate in Theology.
