The Pontifical University of John Paul II, with its registered office at 25 Kanonicza Street, is your personal data controller.

We have appointed a Personal Data Protection Inspector, whom you can contact about having your personal data processed:

• by sending correspondence to the mailing address: Uniwersytet Papieski Jana Pawła II ul. Kanonicza 25; 31-002 Kraków, with the notation: IOD.

Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:

• Pursuing higher education;
• Participating in courses and postgraduate studies;
• Receiving scholarships;
• Obtaining support on account of disability certification;
• Accommodation;
• Conducting a competition procedure;
• Using an e-learning platform;
• Checking a graduate thesis;
• PR and marketing activities for the benefit of the university – a controller’s legally justified goal;
• Monitoring alumni’s further fortunes – by consent;
• Health insurance;
• Traineeship and internship;
• Academic exchange.

Your personal data will be stored depending on the basis for processing

• Data processing on the basis of consent – until it is revoked;
• Data processing on the basis of legal regulations in accordance with the regulations, e.g.
  
  • Data on students, doctoral students – for a period of 50 years,
  • Financial and accounting documents – for a period of 6 years,
  • Data processed for the purpose of accommodation – for the period of prescription of claims, but no longer than 1 year.

In view of the GDPR you have the following rights:

• a right to access your data, including a right to obtain a copy of your data;
• a right to rectify (correct) your personal data – if the data are incorrect or incomplete;
• a right to remove your personal data – if your data are no longer necessary;
• a right to limit the processing of your personal data;
• a right to transfer your personal data – if the processing takes place pursuant to an agreement;
• a right to revoke your consent – you can do it by contacting the Personal Data Protection Inspector.

Providing your personal data is voluntary but necessary for the pursuit of education.

If you find processing of your personal data in breach of the law, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection.
