Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski was born on 24th July 1949 in Poznań. In 1967 he graduated from the 1st Grammar School of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań. In the years 1967–1973 studied at the Archbishop’s Theological Seminary in Poznań and at the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Poznań.

Ordained a priest on 24th May 1973 by Archbishop Antoni Baraniak. In 1974 he obtained the canonical Licentiate of Theology at the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Poznań upon defending the dissertation on “The issues related to a person in Gabriel Marcel’s philosophy” (supervisor: Rev. Prof. Ludwik Wciórka). In 1973–1975 he was a vicar in St. Martin’s Parish in Odolanów near Ostrów Wielkopolski.

In 1975 assigned by Archbishop Antoni Baraniak to complete the specialized studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome from which in June 1977 he obtained the Licentiate degree of philosophy for the dissertation „La filosofia del simbolo religioso di Paul Ricoeur” (awarded the Gold Medal of the Pontifical Gregorian University) and on 20th December 1979 defended his doctoral thesis on „Le relazioni intersoggettive nella filosofia di Levinas” (supervisor: Prof. Simon Decloux SJ, awarded the Gold Medal of Pope John Paul II).

After returning to Poland he was an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Theology in Poznań 1980–1996, in 1980–1987 he was a Prefect at the Archbishop’s Theological Seminary in Poznań, in 1987–1996 an Editor and since 1990 the Editor-in-Chief of weekly magazine „Przewodnik Katolicki” (“Catholic Guide”).

In 1991 presented his habilitation thesis in the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Academy in Cracow entitled „Jean-Paul Sartre i Emmanuel Levinas – w poszukiwaniu nowego humanizmu. Studium analityczno-porównawcze” (“Jean-Paul Sartre and Emmanuel Levinas – in quest of a new humanism”), published under the title „W poszukiwaniu nowego humanizmu. J.-P. Sartre – E. Levinas” (“In Quest of a New Humanism. J.-P. Sartre – E. Levinas”, Kraków 1994). In 1996 he was nominated an Associate Professor of the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Poznań and a Visiting Professor of the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.

In 1996 nominated an Episcopal Vicar for Science and Culture in the Archdiocese of Poznań and the Head of the Faculty of Academic Chaplaincy of the Archbishop’s Curia in Poznań. On 17th May 1997 appointed an Auxiliary Bishop of the Poznań Archdiocese by His Holiness John Paul II and consecrated by Archbishop Zenon Paetz on 29th June 1997 in Poznań. His co-consecrators were: the Secretary of Apostolic Signatura Archbishop Zenon Grocholewski (currently Cardinal and Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Catholic Education) and Archbishop Marian Przykucki, the Szczecin-and-Kamień Pomorski Archdiocese of that time. For his episcopal motto Bishop Jędraszewski chose the words „Scire Christum” (“To Know Christ”).

On 26th November 1998 he was nominated an Associate Professor at the newly established Faculty of Theology of Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) in Poznań and on 7th December 1998 became the Head of the Department of Christian Philosophy of the UAM Faculty of Theology.

On 2nd January 2002 earned the degree of the Professor of Theological Sciences. On 11th July 2012 appointed the Archbishop of Łódź by Pope Benedict XVI, the ingress on 8th September 2012 on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Since 2014 Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski has been holding the position of Vice-President of the Polish Episcopal Conference (KEP) wherein he is also a member of: KEP Permanent Council, Section of Philosophical Sciences of the Commission for the Doctrine of Faith, the Commission for Catholic Education,  Council for the Pastoral Care of Youth and a KEP delegate of Academic Chaplaincy.

Since 30th September 2012 has been the Head of the Commission for the Catechesis of Schools and Universities of the European Bishops’ Council (CCEE).

On 30th November 2013 Pope Francis admitted Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski for a 5-year term membership of the Congregation for Catholic Education.

Born in 1965 in Kraków; From 1984 to 1990 studied theology at The Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow; graduated with a degree of Master of Theology in 1990; ordained Priest by Cardinal Franciszek Macharski on 19 May 1990 in Wawel Cathedral; in 1992–1997 studied at the Department of Music Education of The Academy of Music in Cracow from which in 1997 he received a degree of Master of Arts; in 1996 obtained a degree of Licentiate of Theology from The Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow; during the academic year 2003/2004 participated in a research fellowship at the Pontifical Institute for Sacred Music in Rome (Renovabis Foundation); in 1998–2000 studied at the Postgraduate Institute for Conductors organized by The Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz; in 2000 obtained a Doctor of Theology in Liturgy from The Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow; in 2010 presented his habilitation dissertation in Humanistic Sciences in the Department of History and Cultural Heritage of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow; since 2016 the Associate Professor at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow; In the years 1997–2020 lecturer at the Academy of Music in Cracow (in the years 2005–2019 the Head of the Chair of Religious Music); since 2000 lecturer at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (in the years 2006–2009 and 2016–2018 the Vice-Dean of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage, in the years 2009–2016 the Director of the Intercollegiate Institute of Church Music in Cracow; in 2018–2020 the Deputy Rector responsible for didactics and students’ affairs at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow; since 2006 member of the television broadcast team of the Polish Episcopal Conference; since 2012 the Counsellor of the Sub-commission for Church Music of the Polish Episcopal Conference; in the years 2009–2017 the President of the International Federation of Pueri Cantores.

Published 4 monographs and over 70 scientific articles; gave lectures at 52 scientific conferences in Poland and abroad; supervised over 100 bachelor and master students, as well as 2 doctors; his main interests revolve around church music, particularly the Gregorian chant, the documents of the Church pertaining to sacred music, the history of Pueri Cantores in the world, musical collections of Wawel and to the beauty of music.

Rev. Antoni Świerczek, PhD Habilitatus was born on 24th April 1959 in Bierna near Żywiec. After finishing primary school in Łodygowice in 1974, he attended Secondary School in Bielsko-Biała from which he graduated in 1978. Subsequently, he studied at Higher Theological Seminary in Cracow and at the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Cracow. Obtained a Master’s Degree in Theology on 2nd May 1984. Ordained a Priest on 20th May 1984. Served as a vicar in Jaworzno (1984–1988) and in Nowa Huta-Czyżyny (1988–1990). Completed the licentiate studies at the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow (1988–1990) from which he obtained the title of the Licentiate of Theology on 15th October 1991. Made doctoral studies in Catholic Institute in Paris (1990–1993).

From 1st September 1993 to 30th August 1997 the Rapporteur in the Department of Chaplaincy of Families of the Cracow Metropolitan Curia. Since 1st October 1996 the Assistant at the Chair of Moral Theology at the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow. Continued his studies in the Catholic Institute in Paris (1997–1999). Obtained a Doctor’s degree in Theological Sciences at the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Cracow – 8th May 1999. Presented his habilitation thesis in theological sciences, the specialization of moral theology, at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow on 29th November 2013. Professor of the Pontifical Academy of Theology since 1996, then of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. Head of the Studies of the Theology of Family of the Cracow Archdiocese (1999–2017). Director of St. Stanislaus BM Publishing House of the Cracow Archdiocese (2001–2005). Head of the university course Sciences of a Family at the Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (2005–2008). From 1st September 2008 to 30th August 2014 Vice-Dean and since 1st September 2014 the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. In March 2018 elected the Vice-Rector of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow.

Counsellor of the Scientific Council of the Polish Episcopal Conference, member of the Society of Polish Moralists and of the Society of Polish Familiologists.

The scientific interests of the Professor centre on the issues related to a family and marriage. In his publications he has been familiarising the readers with the Church teachings on the very essence and vocation of marriage and family, namely the necessity of fulfilling the commandment of the love to God and to one’s neighbours. He is the author and co-author of the following books:„Budził zaufanie i ukazywał Boga. O życiu i posłudze księdza Jana Marszałka” (“He inspired trust and showed God. About the life and service of Rev. Jan Marszałek”), Kraków 2004, „Spowiednik wobec wymogów etyki seksualnej. Posługa w konfesjonale” (“A Confessor facing the demands of sexual ethics. The confessional service”), Kraków 2009, „Wolne związki w świetle nauczania Kościoła o małżeństwie” (“Free relationships in the light of the Church teachings on marriage”), Kraków 2013, „Rodzina silna Bogiem.Teologiczno-duszpasterska refleksja na temat rodziny” (“A family strong in God. Theological and pastoral reflection on the subject of a family”), Kraków 2013, „Cień wieży Babel. Obraz Rodziny w ponowoczesności” (“The shadow of the Tower of Babel. The image of a family in post-modernism”), Kraków 2017. The author of over 30 scientific articles on the issues appertaining to the theology of marriage and family.

Rev. Professor Świerczek has been holding the position of Vice-Rector since September 2018.

Born on 12th August 1961 in Wrocław, a graduate of sociology of the Jagiellonian University (1986) and of theology of the Pontifical Academy of Theology (1998). Doctor of Theology in Catholic Social Science (2002, thesis entitled: „Problematyka bezrobocia i jej społeczno-duchowych skutków w świetle katolickiej nauki społecznej” (“The problem of unemployment and its social-and-spiritual consequences in the light of the Catholic social science”), presented her habilitation thesis in theology (2011, entitled „Bezdomny moim bratem. O polskiej bezdomności przełomu wieków w świetle społecznego nauczania Kościoła” (“A Homeless as my Brethren. About the Polish homelessness over the centuries in the light of the Church social teachings”). Certified teacher (2002). Lecturer of the Post-Secondary School of Social Service Workers in Kraków (1987–2003). Dean of the B. Jański Academy, the Cracow Branch (2004–2011). Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of UPJPII (2014–2016). The longstanding Director of the Institute of Social Work. Since 2009 a Senator of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, currently the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. On 8th June 2020 appointed the Vice-Rector for Students’ and Academic Affairs. Since 2015 an Honorary Member of Pravoslávna bohoslovecká fakulta Prešovskej univerzity v Prešove (Slovakia). Member of the Council for Seniority Policy in the years: 2016–2020 and 2020–2023: 3rd term of office in the Domestic Violence Monitoring Team of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. In 2019 appointed to the Council of Partners Observatory of Caritas Poland. Her scientific achievements appertain mainly to the analyses of the broadly-understood social issues, preventive measures curtailing the development of groups exposed to social exclusion, be in particular the unemployed, homeless, abused or ageing-affected. Another sphere of scientific research is the issues related to the transformation of social work as a response to the ongoing demographic processes and cultural or political changes. Ms Duda’s scientific œuvre comprises the research on the above problems, publications and monographs, theoretical-and-cognitive – both editing monographs and writing articles in scientific journals or chapters in collective publications. Doctor Małgorzata Duda has been an expert cooperator of central government, local government as well as non-government entities in popularising scientific research and their implementation from a widely-understood spectrum of sociological sciences, including family science.

Born on 18th November 1963 in Tarnów, son of Jan – a graduate of AGH in Kraków and of Jadwiga née Piątkowska – a graduate of the Silesian Academy of Medicine. After finishing Primary School No. 3 of Maria Konopnicka in Tarnów to which he went in 1970–1978 and The 3rd Secondary School of Adam Mickiewicz in Tarnów which he attended in 1978–1982, upon receiving his secondary school diploma in 1982, he became a clerical student of the Higher Theological Seminary in Tarnów wherein he completed the philosophical and theological studies. Ordained a Priest on 12th June 1988 by Archbishop Jerzy Ablewicz. After his theological studies at the Higher Theological Seminary in Tarnów and upon presenting his Master’s thesis in dogmatic theology entitled „Teologia pracy Jana Pawła II” (“The theology of John Paul II’s work”) written under the supervision of Rev. doctor Kazimierz Kupiec, by the decision of the Council of the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Cracow, he earned a Master’s degree in theology on 21st June 1988. In 1992 he obtained a Doctor’s degree in Canon Law from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome upon defending the thesis „La natura teologico-giuridica del sinodo diocesano”. Received the habilitation title from the Faculty of Canon Law of UKSW in Warsaw for his scientific achievements and monograph „Walor opinii biegłego w kanonicznym procesie małżeńskim” (“The virtue of an expert’s opinion in canon marriage processes”). Since 2006 has been a Counsellor of the Legal Council of the Polish Episcopal Conference. In 2011 the President of the Republic of Poland conferred upon him the title of the Professor of Legal Sciences. Since 2014 a full Professor of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow and the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Canon Law of UPJPII in Cracow. The author of many publications on canon law pertaining to the Church structures and to the ecclesiastical process law. The organizer of the cyclic scientific symposia on canon material law of marriage and on ecclesiastical process law („Ogólnopolskie Forum Sądowe”) (“National Judiciary Forum”) in Gródek nad Dunajcem: 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019).
