If you are looking for a place where you can meet friendly lecturers, warm-hearted students and attractive conditions of studying, I invite you to Poland, to the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, where we care for a high quality of education, good contacts and strengthening the student-master relationship.

Polish hospitality impresses a lot of students. The Polish proverb “Guests bring God’s blessing” is still valid today. Poles like having guests round, spending time with them and making new contacts.

Krakow’s atmosphere itself will draw you into the historic alleys and let you go back in time and experience the ambience of past centuries but also the present and the future. If you prefer to stay in the present, Krakow can offer a variety of attractive places, from museums, exhibitions, congress halls, to cosy pubs, restaurants and cafes.

Krakow is also a city which has for centuries been associated with Christianity. Dozens of magnificent churches offer peace and an opportunity for meditation, reflection and prayer. A stay in Krakow is an amazing occasion to discover Polish heritage, tradition, culture and religion. Tourists trails from all over Europe converge in this place. This is why Krakow, not only in the past but also today is teeming with life and resonating with voices of tourists from around the world. So, if you have a need to talk to somebody in your own language or in any other language, you will always be able to find somebody here. Krakow is also a great communication hub for travelling through Poland and Europe, particularly Central and Eastern Europe.

Krakow is a city where you can find traces of Pope John Paul II at every step you take. Not only does our University cherish the memories of this great Pole but also reminds and upholds his teachings as well as brings them up to date to face current challenges. Seeing Krakow through John Paul II’s eyes is something worth exploring.

Krakow and our University is not just a place but a state of mind, spirit and heart. Here, you will not get bored but rather excited with the number of decisions to make.

We offer thought-provoking lectures and classes as well as conferences and meetings with interesting people. What is more, our library gives access to both traditional and electronic sources of information. Materials are open access, and the reading room provides users with computers. If you wish to work in a different room, it is enough to send a request. The library has various facilities for people with disabilities. The uniqueness of our university library is underlined by a collection of books donated by Pope John Paul II – a part of his private library. The private secretary of John Paul II, currently Archbishop of Krakow and Great Chancellor of our university, Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, takes care of John Paul II’s legacy as well as prosperity and development of the University.

If our university inspired you just a little, call, write or visit the Centre for Scientific Research and International Cooperation and our staff will gladly answer any questions and explain things which are not clear. Don’t worry if you don’t speak Polish – we speak foreign languages, but can also assist you with learning Polish.
